Boone, Iowa | I have had problems with the orings on the sleeves and you will get coolant in the oil. I have seen a lot of oil coolers on the IH tractors go bad. When we check them at the shop, we will usually send them off to a radiator shop for them to check. If a head gasket goes bad, you will push cylinder pressure into the radiator and will get bubbles or will push out the overflow tank, if bad enough. I have seen head gaskets leak oil, but will usually leak to the outside of the engine. There is only one pressurized hole from the block to the head on these engines and it is not real close to coolant passages. I am still thinking oil cooler. | |
