Subject: RE: Tracks question!

Renville Minnesota

Shoot...............Will get pics tommarow.

Our track setup (cheap experimental) failed after 600 acres of corn this year.  After noticing oil leaking from the front hub we investigated.........Found it was patched with blue gasket sealer (#$%^)!.   Kept adding oil, then poof, hub broke.   Guy who we bought it from said it was from the cat yard.  Best mechanic in the world paul say's the parts guys would laugh him out of the house. ($%^&)!!!

Here is what we found with our short experience.  Hopefully can find parts and fix.....someday.......might need to fly in Pokey to help us figure it out.

"Now, does this allow for sharper turning without tearing up the ground?? "

Our tracks are VERY long............The MT735 (175 pto) pulling the 880 Brent would berm a bit, but the cart slid, and moved over on top of dirt.......  This might not be the case in WET conditions...I really don't know?

"guide blocks"   Look underneath deere's "T"s belts.  There are rubber cleat type structures in the middle of the belts...........Those are guide blocks.

"Also, why do the Brent(Unverferth) carts still use track frames with tires as guide wheels?"    No offense to anyone who has this setup, but............Ish!  Looks like a maintenance nightmare.

We noticed the cart pulled a bit harder than the tires, but had a smoother ride.
