Why doesn't Deere put in heavier metal in known wear areas. I've got a cousin that works at JD and says they aren't built like they should be. We run Gleaner machines and he says that Gleaner augers are double the thickness if not more than JD. Not trying to start a color war here. My cousin grew up running Gleaners. My 2 cents.
