I saw you do that, too, but I didn't know who you were at the time! Always thought 4WD was over rated. Saw men pull out stuff with 2WD that would make you wince. Yes they were loaded and had tires they liked on the rear. Then 4WD became the high parts seller for pick up trucks. My students used to pull, race, mud bog, and Monday morning they would be limping or pulling them in. Mr. Winkle, can we use the shop real quick? The parts store would drop off universals and other needed parts with a phone call. Never owned my first 4WD until I bought the used 95 Chevy in 96. Kind of miss that old truck. It would go through snow like nothing I ever saw, engine, tires and traction meshed just perfectly. Got a 96 soon after and you couldn't hold it on the road. It would white smoke the tires for a hundred feet or so. A well matched machine is precision. Most of the stuff I see today is not. The 02 4WD Silverado won't go much more than the 01 2WD Dakota. Ed |
