Subject: Dry fertilizer storage

Cullom, Illinois
I just bought a Flexicoil air cart that I plan on applying dry fertilizer with. I bought a small used wagon to deliver the fertilizer to the field. My question is how do you guys store your dry fertilizer on the farm? I had in mind a steel cone bottom tank large enough to hold what I needfor the year. A 6000 bushel tank would work. But I've been told it will rust too fast. Yet the flexcoil cart doesn't rust. I could auger out of the tank into the wagon or air cart. The tank would eliminate building a dry storage shed and loading the fertilizer with a loader. I've seen what fertilizer does to loader tractors.
