Subject: Dampener

Make sure the engine vibration dampener is not ready to fall off - there was an update for the early 8.3 engines (or at least the one I replaced looked very different from the original dampener). In my case the pulley was slipping (rubber between the dampener parts was going away). This might be part of the electrical problems as well.

The other thing we did was to get rebuilt concaves - made a world of difference. It was explained to me that often a dealer brings a new machine out to show how much better it is than your old one and the big difference is new concaves. Mine will take 6 rows of 200bpa corn as fast as I can go (the head is the limiting factor) and it struggled to get a clean sample at slower speeds before.

Hope this helps,

Pat
