Now, since you have lost several points, I'm wondering about wear on the shank tip itself. The shank is meant to support that tip, and the only thing the bolt should do is hold it on. If you put on a new point, and it isn't tight, then it's working on that bolt, and may never stay on. Might have to change some shanks to actually solve the problem.
The other thing I would suggest, would be to change to the JD Laser points. We got a Krause Dominator that had Nichols points on it. Wore them out right quickly. Changed it over to the JD Laser point, and can easily run close to 2,000 acres before needing to change points. | |
