SW OH
I was running the combine this morning when the cart got stuck. I was making ruts myself and using the brakes a little for steering. As I was backing up the the tractor, the left wheel locked up and spun me around sideways. I knew what the problem was. I pulled up a ways, backed up, pulled the cart out and kept going. 5 acres later that farm was done and I took the final drive apart and removed the broken off tooth. I also noticed that the gear looks like it is cracked near the hub.

I just wonder how long it will last. 3 years ago the left final broke the case for the same reason. A used one from a junk yard was put on. I put new bearings and seals in both last year and everything looked fine. Put it all back together and moved to next farm and did 10 more acres. No thumps, bumps or strange sounds.

It only took 2 hours to take apart and put back together. Has anyone done this before and how long did it last? Mitchco
