Huntley Montana
NOT good.
Coop is taking delivery of aprx 25% of what we have in the field this week, figgure it'll take 2 weeks to process that with both Billings & Lovell plants. Then they'll see what/how the rest look like & MAYBE take another week/2 worth of beets then IF they don't degrade due to more freezes.
I want to get out the share crop beets IF possible so the landlords can get some money. I have insurance on my share, but most landlords don't. I figgure I still have 340a to harvest.
Untill the Coop rejects the beets in the field we cann't do any thing with them without jeperdising our crop insurance.
Harvest costs are high with the mud, not worth going for livestock feed unless someone really needs the feed. Normal harvest costs are in the $200-250a range. Add mud, cold & costs go up fast, ie pull tractors on trucks, truck driveline problems, extra time to clean harvestor from mud buildup, sometimes every 5-10 min.
