Yeah, that's kind of the direction we are going. We have a Clipper that we only use for cleaning seed wheat since the RR bean era hit us. This guy and my son-in-law got together at iburncorn and we are considering the possibilities. What we are thinking of doing is setting up and cleaning enough to fill our gravity wagons. I have a 250 bushel wagon and a couple 175's. SIL has a 150. Then either advertise in the classifieds or just let the local corn stove dealer know we have clean corn available if anyone wants to buy a little. Sounds like we could get an extra $.75 to $1.00 out of it. And if it doesn't sell all we are out is the cleaning which we would do ourselves. Talked about having some bagged but haven't looked into it yet. We don't have the setup for that. My gut feeling is by the time we took it to the local seed cleaner, has it run through their cleaner and bagged we'd have at least a dollar in actual costs. |
