Subject: Small hog producers

I know that they exist but didn't realize that most of them bought feed. I would have figured that they just fed the hogs what ever they could find for scraps and other than that the hogs were on their own.

These producers sound alot like they would belong to the ICCI (Iowa Citizens for Community Improvment). A group that is very close to being aligned with PETA and the Sierra Club. Basically they are against confinements and modern hog producers. They want to go back about 50 yrs so they don't have to adapt to a changing market.

What they don't usually see is that their is room for their small "organic, hand fed" operations along with the large confinement operations. The two groups are selling their product to different customers already.
