When Soybeans are planted in any of your fields with very high SCN counts you should change your source of resistance. Most soybean varities in our area use PI 88788 resistance in thier cyst beans. This resistance is mainly for race 3 cyst. Beans that only have race 3 resistance will show cyst damage if other races are present.

Beans are being developed with other types of resistance. Peking source resistance will give you controll of race 1 and 3. Pioneer has beans with this resistance being used. 92M75, 92M52, 91M91 all use the Peking source resistance.

There is testing that can be done that will determine the race of cyst in your field. I think Michigan is doing it.
