That was my understanding as well.

Was not sure if OP intended to still use this on the road with truck as well as moving around off road with tractor.

I personally would not want to be disabling brakes if there was a chance that it could get hooked up and put on the road by someone that was unaware they had been disabled and I think the ability to have trailer brakes would greatly improve safety over just relying on tractor brakes.
