Brazilton KS | He 'did what it took' and as it turned out that was likely for the best, however it is worth noting that he may or may not have 'done the right thing.' Without knowing the policies of the department and the tactical situation on the scene, it's hard to say how he was supposed to handle the situation. I would bet most departments would not want an officer entering a situation like that alone. It doesn't do much good to get killed without solving the problem. Fortunately he managed to solve the problem and he deserves commendation for that, regardless of policy....it's ironic that he may deserve both commendation and reprimand, but sometimes such is life. | |
