Any police officer will tell you the worst situation to get into is a domestic altercation . I have to agree though that in this case that the officer really had no other choice. No one on duty to call in backup & a nutcase is killing defenseless people, many no doubt were confined to their bed or wheelchair. I have to give the officer kudoos for having gonads to do what he did. If he hadn't no doubt many other innocent people would have been killed
