Seems you bought a tricycle to do the job of a motorcycle. Mp3 is audio only no video, many dvd players act as a cd player if just loaded with audio files. If you want to make things compatible try converting the mp4 file with handbrake to a mpeg 2 video file that your dvd player should recognize as a video file on the card. Once converted you could make video discs to either play or distribute.
