Western Nebraska
I don't know about Canada, but the secret ballot is a pretty important part of our political landscape. It has long been a means to allow men to vote their conscience. Without the secret ballot people suddenly become susceptible to coercion. Unions will try to deny that fact, but history does not support their claims. I am not sure why Canadians are okay with a coercive system but us Neanderthals south of the 49th still believe that the best way to preserve freedom of conscious is to preserve the secret ballot. Unions see a way to increased power and money through the coercive system of card check and that is the only motivation necessary to get them to support something so contrary to our national heritage.
