Does anyone ever catch his show?

I love to hunt and fish but this guy is just wrong.  I saw the beginning of an episode the other day - he took his son quail hunting. He got him set up and told him where he could shoot (safe shooting direction) when the bird was flushed. So good so far. 

Buck then walked up on some cover to flush a bird -  the bird walked into the open and stood there - 10 to 15 feet away - he then told his son to shoot it while it was on the ground!!!! I think he refered to it as Arkansas hunting - not the way it was planned but his son shot his first quail.  His statement at the end of the segment was something like "I'll make a hunter out of him".

Is it just me or is this wrong?
