Subject: Here is my version.........

I read this to my supervisor and the superintendents that answered to me at the end of my last meeting when I walked away from my job of 25 years.

If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs, then you don’t fully understand the situation.
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,then you are enjoying a normal day in operations.
If you can wait and not be tired by the waiting,
you are used to dealing with modern data systems.

If you can dream--and not make these dreams work, someone in marketing will want you.
If you can think--and can find no one to tell about it;

you may be part of Energy Management in system control.
If you can book Triumph and Disaster, thinking they are the same
the financial group will want you to get your CPA license.

If you feel twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Administrative Services is helping you with an employee problem.

If you can talk with crowds and feel humility,
or walk with politicians and not be corrupted,
there is just no place for you in Corporate Relations.

If you can force your heart and nerve to be truthful in the face of inequity, rather than spin deceit,
you are obviously not top level management material.

If you could make one heap of all your winnings,
risk it all on one year’s worth of weather conditions, and willingly accept the result without comment, you would begin to understand my passion for farming.

If foes cannot hurt you and loving friends lift your spirits,

If all men can count on you, but none too much,
you must be walking with the Divine Spirit;
and what is more my fellow workers----

you'll remain one of God’s favorites;

THE COMMON MAN!
