| I live near a small town & a few years ago I was in at the service station getting new tires put on my p.u. when a lady came in & started going off on farmers { evidently the fuel tank in the back of my p.u. made her think I was a farmer :~)) }. One comment she made that reall y struck me as stupid was " we don't need farmers, you can buy anything you need downtown in the grocery store." If we had been in NYC or Chicago I could have understood why she felt that way, but in a small rural community of 2,000 where everything pretty much revolves around farming? Give me a break. | |
