Before some of you who are not football fans get too excited this is not a big grain farmer retiring who will have a lot of land for rent. 

This is the John Madden who is a former football coach and has been a commentator for NFL football for about 30 years.   Don't know about you but I really enjoyed listening to John.  Will definitely miss him.  

This made me think about my favorite football commentators of all time....that would be Dandy Don Meredith, Frank Gifford and Howard Cosell. When Monday night football started back in the early 70's they really made the games fun.  Howard was a classic. 

Remember Dandy Don singing"turn out the lights, the parties over" when a game was pretty much decided?  Miss hearing them too.
