Constantly fighting gravity to stay aloft with an airliner uses up too much energy.

Obviously the hang glider cadre would find fault with your generalization.

I have flown in a plane for several hours with out burning a gallon of fuel. Glider you know.

Most ultra light aircraft can utilize lift to their advantage, as I have in single engine general aviation aircraft.

Surely the is someone on who can inform us on the pound of fuel per mile traveled required by the auto, any and all aircraft, AmTrak, and a Bullet Train.

Now that Governor Perry has been stopped with his expensive and land grabbing Trans Texas Corridor, he is now advocating a high speed rain.
I sure hope that wild idea dies a slow agonizing death for little Rick.
I just may vote in the Republican Primary for an early chance to vote him out of office. OBTW Perry is an Aggy! Claims to be a rancher but is really a banker.
