Dave, I don't know where you've been on Amtrak, but my experiences on it out east have been pleasant. I've ridden on both the regular trains and the Acela express. In all instances, the train service was good and the staff was very helpful and courteous.

I've used it for both business and personal travel. I'd take a trip on a train over an airplane any day of the week.
