Yes, the newest DJI drones are easier to fly. They have auto land & sometimes auto take-off capabilities. Most important, they are gyro stabilized & gps controlled. The little $100 ones aren't. The newer DJI models typically last about 20-25 minutes of flying per battery, in my experience.

You will probably pay $1000 or more for the ability to really have one fly & take nice pictures & videos. I find the little $100 ones are good to practice your controlled maneuvers with.
