1” ball would be good enough for s7. One of the things to consider though is if you are gonna have a need to hold a i-pad, or a monitor the 1.5” ball is gonna be a lot better.
We have got along with the suction cups okay, but after having the i-pad end up on the floor several times, we just went to hard mounts, and reduce that aggravation.
