iPad can handle multiple streams of data. Can use a Bluetooth keyboard and/or speakers at the same time as WiFi.
The trouble is they prioritize getting the internet from WiFi. I’m not sure how to get safari/ the iPad to keep the WiFi open, but not use that data stream to try to find the internet.
