luckily searching parts numbers and the like still works good.
As soon as brand names or consumer items appear in the search frame, google freaks out. 
Google convinced a lot of businesses to pay them to "improve" their search results. As long as you and me don't fall into this trap everything is good :-)
I tried some "alternative" search engines and did not always like the results. Google's algorithms are hard to beat.
My number one shopping site is Ebay, if I like a seller's service I often go direct to his shop on a second occasion.  Ebay makes suggestions based on previous searches but not as bad.
