Wyoming | On our local community college campus, I'd say that it's about half/half Mac vs. PC laptops. Among some student departments like nursing, dental technicians, health science - it's probably about 65% Macs.
Some of the students with PC-based laptops are running PC's because they're also playing games on them at some point. Sometimes, the PC-based laptops are required for working with a particular software package - for example, Solidworks.
As someone who has and used both PC and Mac-based laptops in a student environment, I'll say this: the Mac laptops "just work." The PC-based laptops sometimes require a bunch of fiddling and debugging. |
