I bought my Brothers at Costco.  I got the MFC-9970CDW for home office for scanning, fax and color and bought a basic black and white Brother for the shop office that has a scanner for a simple copy machine also.  I tried the generic color cartridges but went back to OEM.  The generics did not work fro me - tried a couple different sources but OEM has been best for me.
