Southeast South Dakota | I am not sure which version of Office is 10
even though Microsoft has version numbers usually Office is every 3 years ... ie. Office 2010, Office 2013 and now Office 2019
these are standalone, buy once, installable programs.
Microsoft would rather have you pay every month (much more $$ coming their way) this is called Office 365
It does have some advantages, and I think I can see where Microsoft is going.
When they say they are going to quit supporting something, it doesn't mean it is going to stop working. BUT, if a new flaw is found by some hacker somewhere, it may very well allow them access to certain things on your computer. So there is a risk running programs that are no longer supported.
There are options. Run what you got, goto Office 365, or run a competitor like Google Suite, or the free Libre Office,
Most important is to backup your files. Multiple methods. Ransomware is profitable.
