Centre county Pennsylvania, USA | Mark, I believe answer is No to your question: "I wonder are the JD ITC receivers are outputting the elevation that has been skewed by the tilt compensation?"
I have constructed multiple year combine attitude maps on same (terrain featured) fields from combine yield monitor data logs for both Starfire iTC w SF1 and Garmin 17 w WAAS receivers. Garmin receiver has no terrain compensation capability. Results show that Starfire iTC data (with TC enabled) and Garmin 17 data produce almost identical combine attitude maps. Because combine attitude maps were nearly identical, and were computed from receiver 3D DGPS fixes for both receivers, I am convinced that the Starfire iTC 3D DGPS position fixes logged by yield monitor are NOT skewed by Starfire iTC terrain compensation.
If your still in doubt, JD's iTC may be disabled in setup, but it reverts to enabled each time power is cycled.
Good luck there. |
