Paul, you and I definitely agree that if you don't know why files are being sent to the cloud, then it needs to be shut down. Data safety is too important. Using the current security methods offered by the big companies (Microsoft, Apple, Google) for cloud storage is secure. But you need to review and know what those security methods are. Having a verification text sent to your phone is one of these methods. Wherever the stuff is going, you absolutely need to have a local copy in case the service goes away. I've experienced that a couple times. It's one reason I'm using the Microsoft OneDrive cloud. Microsoft isn't going away, and they have been betting the business on cloud services of which OneDrive is a major part. Google has already failed me several times with services that I really liked and they shut down or replaced with stuff I didn't understand. So they don't get my cloud storage. |
