South Central MN
For basic farming you can cheat quicken by using tags and categories into working for accrual accounting. I made it work and it was easy and I really liked being able to easily download transactions from the bank directly into the software. However, if you want to start doing "real" accounting quicken is limited. tracking inventories and hedges and even some loans with odd payment terms (balloon payments, etc) is difficult. Simply tracking income and expense is super easy. Can download a chart of accounts from several universities to help setup quicken for farm use.

I moved to centerpoint this year. What a world of difference. Many more reporting and tracking options, but also much more difficult to use.
