After I went to an iMac (which is an all-in-one), the only reason I would go back to a tower or other similar computer is if I need to plug in peripheral control or prototype boards (which I used to have a number of when I was consulting).
All-in-one with a SSD and a 27" screen is the bee's knees, IMO.
