Folks did the same thing two years ago. My B-I-L and I put teamviewer on their laptop before they went south for the winter. Few months later it help the scammer get on their laptop quicker. I wasn’t sure what they told scammer or what was in laptop so advised them to cancel all credit cards and pull battery on laptop and bring it to Best Buy first thing when they open.
They said yes to the spam call......
