South Central MN | That doesn't sound like it will end well.
Those darned popup deals that want you to call a # to "recover" your computer are counting on the fact many dont know how to "kill" such an attempt with the task manager or right click + close on the task bar to get rid of the offending page. Dealt with a few of those, all it does is annoy someone.
Years ago in college I had a computer that fell victim to a BIOS virus, those things are nasty. A good one will corrupt anything it can, back then a CD was the only storage device it couldn't touch. How that virus got into that computer remains a mystery.
Right now I am using my phone to reply, otherwise use my computer. Well that decided last Friday it didnt want to boot anymore, but seems to be more age related than anything else. Computer is 2012 era, running win 7. Done good in my book but it's not done yet... | |
