How do you have signal going thru HDMI port? Is it sourced thru a computer? 

If you haven't done it, maybe hook up your TV to your computer thru your HDMI cord/port.  See if your computer screen wallpaper shows up on your TV.  That would tell you whether it is a TV problem, or something else.  Maybe I am wrong, but that is what I would do.
