My parents use quicken, I think you can go three years before needing to update and pay another fee. I know quickbooks is that way. Online would be a monthly or yearly fee. Quicken should work fine for what you want to do.
Turbo tax is tax software, it will read your data in quicken or quickbooks, ask you a bunch of questions and fill out and file taxes. You don't need it.
