Are you using an Amazon tablet? The FireOS is a restricted version of Android. Never tried downloading mp3s but Android is so free I've never had issues downloading apks from anywhere. You do need to click a few setting to install from unknown sources though. Maybe you need that for mp3s?


The Tablet is an ONN from Wal-mart. It is running Android 9, which it says is current.

There was no problem loading a music playing app. The problem was copying music to a folder on the tablet so the app could play it.. Once I "allowed" file transfers, I was able to copy music and old time radio programs. When I disconnected from the PC, the system locked itself up again in the sense that it would not allow me to copy more music unless I did the "allow" step again.
