| A few years ago I decided to make chicken salad and I needed some hard boiled eggs. Since I had never hard boiled eggs before, I took a pan and filled it half full of water and set it on the stove with the burner on high. Once the water started boiling I started dropping the eggs in one by one. As soon as the eggs hit the boiling water, they started bursting open right away and I hollered to my wife in the other room "What's wrong with these eggs?" She replies "Why?" and I said "They explode as soon as I put them in the water!" She came out to the kitchen and told me what I was doing wrong - I didn't know you put the eggs in the cold water first before putting the pan on the stove, lol!. | |
