| The radio station here has a regular "phone-in" show with an appliance repairman. He says that the LG ( stands for "Lucky Goldstar", from Korea ) are popular only because of the trendy/cool marketing and ads they have. As an indepedant repairman, he was told that he can't obtain service or parts info, tells owners to go back to the store it came from. Say after 5 years, it has a minor problem, you'll find it costs just as much to have it fixed as to buy a new one. Good luck getting replacement parts from Korea. Overall, he laments the "disposal" appliances of today.
Definately not like your mother's Maytag or Speed Queen that can be fixed to keep running after 20 or 30 years. | |
