Subject: Hydraulic accumulators???

NW Washington
Well, it is news to me. Wonder how it works. They must have a huge accumulator to store hydraulic energy and the ability to use this to store energy when braking. IMHO using an electric system like the hybrid cars seems simpler, and electricity does not leak. Also seems to me that there must be fairly large energy losses moving all the oil around with pumps, motor and accumulators. But who knows. They may be on to something new and different.
Here is another article put out by Eaton that is much the same as the first one. http://www.truck.eaton.com/news_23.htm
