Subject: RE: Detriot 2 stroke

Inwood, WV
They all survived the constant abuse they were subjected to at the construction company I used to work for. Both trucks and off-road equipment. The philosophy there was--the best way to run a Detroit was to slam the door on a finger when you first climbed in and run her like you were mad at her the rest of the day.
According to transdiesel.com over 3,500,000 2-strokers were made, and 800,000 of them are still in use. Not too bad for used parts supply I would think.
BTW I have seen a 6-71 running backwards, twice. I wonder if that could be debated as a strength or weakness. :)

Include me in the, "Love that scream" crowd.

Dustin
