| Does anyone on this board have any experience in this area, local airport told us they want a protection zone and sale was strictly voluntary, they get appraisal of two odd shaped parcels around 5 acres a piece at a little over $3000 dollars an acre after I drove appraiser to 3properties which just sold around farm from $4500 to $9000 dollars per acre, the appraiser used comps two to three years old and some nearly ten milles away in poorer part of the county much further from town. We told them we were not interested in selling for their price and we get a letter the other day saying they are starting emminnet domain procedings. Any experiences refernces or other advice would be greatly appreciated. have offered to tradethese parcels to airport for farm ground they own which is not a part of protection zone, some of this land was purchased from us 20 years ago under threat of emmninent domain on a proposed expansion project which never materialized and was later scrapped they stated they have no interest in selling any farmland since they can rent it out and this is income for the airport. | |
