Negotiate. get a good lawyer or your own landman. Much like the oil and gas companies use. They are using a go-between why shouldn't you. Let them talk to them .Tell them they can pay for it. Get a lot of bids on your ground.
The money for the ground is incidental. The money that will be made is in damages or other things such as your improvements over the years. get all the records you have together and set a price. Probably going to happen so make sure you get your share.
Gas company wanted to go through here years ago, until we dug some test holes and found gravel. Buying it all the way down was expensive. They went around us.Airport is a little different,they can't go around you.
Get a lease back deal on all farm land.
Lots of room for negotiations, don't take it personal but take them for all you can.Talk with others in the same boat,start a neighborhood org. to put them all together. At least for the initial stages.
Sue them before they start their proceedings. Drive the first stake. Make them prove their findings.
