Subject: Re: Knuckle boom inside shop

I mounted a hoist off a truck that had delivered septic tanks etc. It is not a knuckle boom but one that has a fixed boom that rotates with a telescoping cylinder inside the boom. When we poured the floor I made a frame that went down about 4' and I poured the frame seperate from the floor with about 5 yards of cement. It hasn't moved and will lift several thousand pounds at the end of the 20' boom. It has elcetric 12 volt control box and I used a 5 horse electric motor on a pto pump with a gressen valve to put it in and out gear. I had a 15 gallon tank for the oil and it works real well.
The motor should be bigger as it will stop the motor if I try to lift too much.
