| The saddest thing about this airport deal is the airport didn't even know they needed a new runway until a consultant showed them the could get a 95% federal match for building one. The appraiser had to be faa certified this means he cost $10,000 to do a job that should cost around $300, which is all the state approved appraiser got to a apraise and adjacent farm at the same time for right of way adjustment. This airport only has six planes hangered there and would likely be closed but they keep traffic up by selling gas at fifty cents a gallon under most in the state. Kind of makes you wonder, also the person that approves these projects at the state level rotates from engineering firm writing most of the federal grants and designing expansion plans in state. | |
