Subject: RE: I'm also interested

Like Chad, I too would be interested in knowing how well these fertilizer openers work. The add says the opener puts the fertilizer two inches to the side of the seed trench but doesn't mention how deep. I wondering how deep it can put the fertilizer. I kinda doubt it can place the fertilizer two inches below the seed without leaving quite a trench in the process. Perhaps having the fertilizer at the same depth as the seed is satisfactory. What do you guys think about acceptable fertilizer depth placement? Is having the fertilizer at the same depth as the seed ok? I also wonder if the design and setup of the opener can potentially disturb the proper working of the press wheel and seed trech closure. We don't do any notilling, but I assume these openers wouldn't work too well in a notill situation.

Hopefully, someone can shed some "light" on how well these things work; right Chad?
