Subject: RE: Geothermal/Ground source heat

EC Indiana
We just replaced a fuel oil furnace with geothermal in November in our house remodel and it is great. Such an improvement over the fuel oil - no smell, residue, much less noise, no hot/cold spots, hot air blast...better in every way. We also insulated more & put in more registers & runs so our heat is much more evenly distributed. We use the pump/dump system as our well was pretty weak anyway, so a new one is nice. Put in a constant pressure system and it is a real upgrade from the older style. The well added about the same additional cost as the loop part of that system - I was quoted $1100/ton for the loop work, so I opted for the well route. I figured if I went with the loop I would need a new well sometime soon anyway. I am in EC Indiana so our weather is similar. You won't be sorry with geo.
