It would work. Depends on how wet it is if you will get it loaded. Biggest problem with a side dump is trying to pile it. If you want to just drive along and dump it's fine or if you can dump so it's not trying to pile up on the last load and then back away you will be ok. If you try to pile it up on the last load then it tends to run back under the side of the trailer after you've dumped and you can be stuck in a heartbeat.

I would think that an end dump with a plastic liner in it would work just as good and you could stack it up more in the field and not have it all over 5 acres while you're dumping. Liners make all the difference in the world. On our half round end dump dirt or lime will start coming out more than one stage sooner on the cylinder and it will be completely empty and still have 2 stages left on the cylinder.
